God Answers Prayers In Amazing Ways

Yesterday I was home sick from work so I decided that I needed to spend a lot of time in prayer.  I asked God to show me areas in my life that I needed to work on.  After a long time praying a listening I realized one thing God put on my heart was that I needed to spend more time with Christian women.  I prayed that God would show me how in my busy schedule I could either start or be a part of a bible study.  As always, God answers prayers in his way and his timing...

A few months back I stumbled upon an incredible site www.passionatehomemaking.com 

Lindsay is a homemaker, wife and mother.  Reading her posts each day has truly been a blessing and an inspiration and God has shown me that this is the kind of woman he wants me to become. To get to the point; on her site she was having a give away for a book in her upcoming study.  It is called "Practicing Hospitality".  There was such a great turnout the author of the book donated several more copies to be given away.  God answered my prayer in a very unique way as I was one of the ones chosen to receive a free copy.  What a huge blessing as right now we are doing everything we can to try and save money.  I can't wait to join other women with the same heart and passion for the Lord as myself as we learn how to practice biblical hospitality!  :-)  Thanks Lindsay and praise be to God!

Sucks

Life Sucks right now...where the heck is God these days? I know He is here but I am really confused right now!

WHOOPS!!!

The only reason I am writing this is because there are only a few people who know about my blog and those people are my closest family and friends so you will all read this and say, "oops, just another 'Sarahism', hehe".

So here goes:

Tonight I wanted to watch the presidential debate but I didn't get home in enough time to make dinner and watch the debate. Since Beau wasn't home I had to figure out how to watch the debate live on my laptop.

No problem I thought, I can do this...it can't be that hard. So, I typed in "October 15th presidential debate" into google and found that CNN was streaming it live so I clicked on it and it popped up.

Yeah I thought, I knew I could do it.

I need to preface this next part...I was making dinner while listening to the debates so I wasn't really watching and I was only half listening.

About twenty minutes into me listening I thought to myself, "geez, if they say Joe plumber one more time I am not going to vote for either one, this is ridiculous they have said it about a hundred times."

Hee Hee, whoops, turns out the one I clicked on was only one question that was asked and it kept repeating itself. I must have listened to it three or four times. (blush) Turns out I need to pay more attention.

Well, there is your laugh for the evening (or whenever you read this). Guess I can't talk about politics until I pay more attention.

Rolloff Family Farm

Today Beau, Josh, Jill and I went to the Rolloff Family Farm pumpkin patch. It is off of Helvetia Road in Hillsboro. I have wanted to go there ever since the show "Little People, Big World" aired. We were going to go last year but by the time we got around to it they had closed for the year. So today being the perfect fall day only seemed fitting for us to go. When we got there we saw Matt (the dad) and Amy (the mom) riding around in their 4 wheeler. I was super excited. You aren't always guaranteed that you will see them because they are taping upcoming episodes so I was stoked. About two minutes later we saw Zach riding around on his bike. I was overjoyed as I watch the show quite a bit and love it. After I got over the initial excitement we went to the pumpkin patch. Although we found some great pumpkins we didn't want to stand in an hour line just to buy them so we bailed on that idea. We walked through the pumpkin fun house which was cool and then we went to buy tickets for the hay ride so we could see he whole farm. Unfortunately, they stopped selling tickets before we even got there so we couldn't go. I was bummed as that was the one reason I wanted to go. So, Beau was nice enough to say we could go back sometime when we could take the tour.

McCain is getting slaughtered!

Debates

I am watching the debates right now and they are interesting. All my friends know that I am a republican and voting for McCain/Palin so you can roll your eyes at this comment if you want but I am totally offended with how many times Biden has laughed smiled (demeaningly) at Governor Palin. I don't like how disrespectful Biden is being toward Palin. He has huffed into the microphone several times and I just want to jump out of my seat and yell at the screen. I don't know whether it is the political aspect of things or because she is a woman but there is just something I don't like/appreciate about the way Biden is presenting himself tonight. I like how straight Palin is about everything. I wonder if she will still be like this if she gets to the White House? Anyway, quick thoughts while watching the debates. :-)
