Quick Post Whoops!
I have to make this quick because my best friend from college is coming over and I have to get dinner ready. So anyone who knows me can honestly say that before I got married I didn't cook. Dinner in a box or can was good enough for me. However, once I got married I found out I loved to cook (hence the 30lb weight gain). This was funny to me because Beau was an amazing cook so I probably should have been content with him as the cook the rest of our lives but I felt I needed to fulfill my womanly duty so off I went to learn how to cook. Tonight I decided to make these really amazing turkey burgers with chutney. For part of the chutney you have to cook pears and cinnamon on parchment paper in the oven to mix with other things. You all know I like to over exaggerate at times but this is NOT one of them :-) I almost had to go live with my neighbors Larry and Jeannie. This would not have been a bad thing as they are awesome people but you see, I almost burned down the house. I have never used parchment paper before and so I assumed it was the same as wax paper. I grabbed the wax paper, put it on the cookie sheet and into the oven it went. Several minutes later everything started to smell like wax. I didn't really think anything of it until I turned around and billows of smoke were pouring out of the oven. I ran to open all the windows and doors not sure if the fire alarm went directly to the fire department and wafted the heck out of the oven. It finally settled down and I realized that wax paper and parchment paper and in fact very different!!! Hope you laughed as hard as I did. Oh well, at least we can learn from our mistakes.

One Question!
How come God made some people naturally thin and others like myself can't even eat vegetables and fruit without gaining a bunch of weight?
Then we have the fantastic media who has to parade and showcase thin people as "beautiful". I know we are all beautiful in God's eyes but I am sick of not being able to eat food! I have been on Medifast for three weeks now. For those of you who don't know what it is...it is a diet which has been backed by John's Hopkins Medical Center and is all FDA approved food. You supposedly get 100% of your daily vitamins and minerals if you eat 5 of their meals a day plus one of your own (it has to be a lean protein and a cup and a half of greens or specific vegetables). The idea is that we eat way to many calories for what our body needs so on this program you eat around 1000 calories a day but still get all your vitamins and minerals in that you need to sustain. The idea is great...calories in versus calories out plus all your vitamins and minerals. Sounds great right? Well, I have only lost 4lbs in 21 days and I am eating 5 powdered meals. My coach basically guaranteed that I would lose 20-30lbs in the first months and I lost all 4 lbs. in the first four days and haven't lost a pound since. Don't know why I have plateaued. I LOVE food and I am able to eat in moderation but I have also gained a lot of weight in the past two years (love being married) :-) I bought two months worth of food so the hubs says I can't quit but I want to! I NEED to lose the weight and believe me I have tried every diet there is known to mankind but I can't lose it. Perhaps if I just pray and am content with the way I look I will actually lose weight. Hmmm...sorry I needed to vent today but it has been a really tough day. When you get to watch others eat food all day and have fresh Oregon berries and you are eating powder it is hard!!!

Spectacular
Not too much to report today. I saw my aunt and uncle this morning for a brief period of time which was nice. This afternoon I went to the chiropractor which I always love! However, on my way home I got a terrible headache. (I know, I know...all of you who hate chiropractors are saying, "I told you so" but I know I didn't get it from that because I had a little one before I went and have been getting them a lot lately). I thought I could shake it so I went with Beau to take some pictures of houses but when we got back it was ten times worse. I was "seeing stars"! I have never had a migraine to the best of my knowledge but I am pretty sure this was one. It was fairly spectacular and not in the "oooh goodey look at those spectacular fireworks"... like spectacular, amazing pain. I decided to lay down for a while and a few hours later Beau woke me up. The headache was a little better but still hurt quite a bit. I was suppose to go have dessert with my family who are in town but I just was not feeling well enough so Beau made me dinner and we relaxed. Now I am headed to bed early which never happens. Night!

Running Around
Today was a great day! First we went to church which always makes for a great day. Then, we came back to the house and cleaned for a while. Although that doesn't sound like the most exciting thing in the world, it was necessary. Since this is Beau's only day off I asked him what he wanted to do. He decided that he needed to go to Home Depot. "Well that sounds like a lot of fun on your day off" I said to him. So, I suggested we go pick blueberries. The place we went to was closed and said "by appointment only". Who new blueberry picking was now so popular you have to call and schedule a time. What happened to spontenaety? Anywho we drove a little bit further and found a great little farm with lots of options. We picked raspberries and marionberries for an hour or so. Although a lot was picked over we were able to get in and under the brush and find some great berries. In fact, when we went to pay for them they guy working there charged us for the prepicked berries. We told him we had picked them and he said, "wow, they looked so nice I didn't think you picked them." Haha...there's what getting a little dirty in the brush will get you...nice, yummy berries. All the berries were only $5.00 so we were happy. On our berry picking adventure we saw a lot of really amazing animals. First we found a snake, next we spotted a hornets nest (almost picked right next to it). The hornets were black with one thin yellow stripe which I had never seen before. Finally, we were picking and a bird flew out of the bushes. We thought that was strange so we went to take a look and there was a birds nest with tiny baby birds. We obviously didn't get too close as we didn't want to scare the mother away but they were so cute! I tried to post this last night but it took two hours to try and download the pics off my camera. Something was seriously wrong. When I did it this morning they came off right away. Of Course!

Ha Ha
I finally figured out how to add a new post and here it is. Today I spent the whole day with my family. I hung out with the hubs in the morning then went to my brother's house in NE Portland with my parents and godparents. After picking fruits, veggies, greens and herbs from his garden I visited his vegan bakery. He had fresh blueberry muffins and herb iced tea. Too bad I am on a stupid diet and can't eat any of it! :-( He has done an amazing job around the house. I am so proud of him. Here are some pictures of his garden.

Aside from his amazing garden, he has an incredible bakery. You should all check it out and place many orders...you won't regret it. His stuff is amazing!!!! www.backtoedenbakery.com
After hanging out with my brother and family, I headed to the airport to pick up my aunt who flew in from Florida. It was great to see her again. We caught up for a while and then I headed home to cook dinner. The hubs and I finished putting together our workout room and then went to the train station to pick up our brother and sister in law. It is almost 11:00 so time for bed! Night Ya'll.

Set Up For Now
Alright, so I spent a little time setting up what I can for right now. I will try and post as often as possible so it doesn't get too boring.
Today was a fabulous day. It started with a wonderful time of fellowship with my new neighbor. She is also a Christian and an amazing woman. I am so excited to get to know her even better! After our time together I went around and took pictures of houses with Beau for his work. Then, I spent four hours outside planting lavender and working on fertilizing the soil so it was plantable (is that a word?). Other than that things were pretty slow. Just watching a movie and setting up my new blog. Yeah. Nighty Night

My First Blog Entry Ever
Alright, so several of my friends now have blogs and since I am slightly obsessed with the internet as some of you may know I thought I would try this whole blog thing out. So, here it is. I love to journal and write down random thoughts and ideas so you may find some of that on here as well. Please enjoy and send me messages back!
